Change the login logo in WordPress
Ever want to change the logo on your WordPress login page–maybe to the cool looking one you spent all that money on? Or maybe you want to add your client’s logo to the page and make them realize just how awesome a resource you are? Why not do it? It’s simple to do because, like everything else, there’s a plugin for that.
Install the Login Logo plugin (written by Mark Jaquith), and simply upload a file named login-logo.php to your /wp-content/ directory. Just like that, you have a custom logo on your login page.
Nice when things work out nice and easy, isn’t it?
If you are plugin averse, you can use FTP to change the logo. Simply connect to your site via your favorite FTP client and navigate to wp-admin/images. Once there, find the file named logo-login.gif and rename it to something like logo-login-old.gif. (Helpful hint: Don’t delete this file. Keep it so that it’s easy to bring back into play if needed/desired. Just revert the name to the original logo-login.gif). Once you have renamed the file, all you need to do is upload a new logo-login.gif file from your desktop and…voila!…a new custom logo on your login page.
Both methods are pretty easy and straightforward. Just pick the one that you like best and go for it. A custom login logo is yours for the taking!
