How to clean up your WordPress Dashboard

| November 29, 2011 | 0 Comments

If you’re like me, as you install plugins on your WordPress website your dashboard becomes more and more cluttered with updates from the plugins, graphs from the plugins, etc. Most of the time, you simply want the plugin to do its job; receiving updates from the author may not be on your radar screen. So how do you clean up that dashboard and make it more relevant to you?

When logged into the WordPress thanks hundashboard, click on Screen Options found in the upper right hand corner.

After you have clicked, you should see a list of all of the items on your dashboard with a checkbox beside them. By default all of the items are  checked and appear on your dashboard like so:

Now, all you have to do is uncheck the items you don’t want to see. And, if you’re really feeling adventurous, you can customize the order you want them displayed by changing the number of columns in your dashboard and dragging and dropping the dashboard items to arrange them to your liking!
