It’s become more and more common for people to include click to tweet buttons in blog posts. The most obvious reason is to draw emphasis to a sentence or phrase in your post. It also makes it easy for site visitors to share your content with others. We are going to use the Better Click to Tweet Plugin to generate the shortcodes required.

Installing Better Click to Tweet

This plugin is found in the WordPress plugin repository (see link above), and installs like any other plugin. You can either download it through the WordPress Dashboard and install it that way, or you can download the plugin to your laptop and upload it that way.

Once installed and activated, you’ll see a new icon in your visual editor toolbar that looks like the twitter bird. Clicking on that icon brings up the Short Code generator. Simply fill out the fields and press the OK button and voila, you’ve generated a click to tweet button on your website.

There isn’t much you can do as to the looks unless you’re willing to dive into the CSS, but it actually looks pretty good on the front end.

There are a number of different plugins that accomplish the same feature, but the Better Click to Tweet Plugin is as straight forward as you can get.
